本種は日本に広く分布し、海外では台湾からも記録されている。様々な植物から採集されている。長崎と沖縄のムべから記載されたH. mube Kudoは、最近Wangら(2020)により本種のシノニムとされた。

This species is widespread in Japan and is also recorded from Taiwan. It is commonly collected from many kinds of plants. Recently it is synonymized with H. mube Kudo described based on the specimens collected from Stauntonia hexaphylla in Nagasaki and Okinawa Is. by Wang et al. (2020).
